GIODN Book Club – Future Minded: Preparing Today’s Youth for Tomorrow’s Workplace with Zaimah Khan
May 6 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT
Join us for this special GIODN event with author Zaimah Khan. We’re entering an era of great technological advancement, yet our youth is being schooled in a system designed for a very different world. Unless we all take a more forward thinking point of view regarding the schooling and education of our youth, we will find a workforce that will be underprepared for the future of work, leading to greater costs and inefficiencies while businesses scramble to develop their human capital. Have a loos at the key human skills that parents and educators can immediately begin developing in the youth and why we need to shift to a more lifelong learning mindset.
Zaimah Khan is a former community college teacher and mother who is passionate about educational reform and preparing the youth of the world for the future. Her position as a Human Capital and Organization Development Consultant has put her front and center with companies looking to develop their workforce, which in turn has helped her understand that heading into the Fourth Industrial Revolution we all need to shore up our soft skills and ensure that we develop such skills in our youth. She believes it is imperative for educators and business leaders to look towards the future and move schools out of a system that was created over 100 years ago.
