Manager, Organizational Change Management (OCM)

Strategy, Planning, and Operations establishes the vision for building partnerships and stakeholder engagement efforts with students, faculty, and staff on behalf of the IT organization. This team aligns and manages the IT roadmap, portfolio, programs, and projects with university priorities; and enables an integrated and collaborative approach to organizational change management and communication efforts to meet the needs of the university while recognizing the unique requirements of UCLA’s different schools and units. The Strategy, Planning, and Operations Office also manages organizational initiatives and efforts, including general administrative functions, internal communications, talent management, and culture development.

The Organizational Change Management team manages organizational change by assessing the effects of changes on personnel and processes, devising strategies to minimize disturbance, collaborating with stakeholders on change projects such as communications in support of the enterprise project management portfolio, and facilitating the acceptance of change to enhance the value of transformative IT endeavors. Furthermore, organize and execute culture, process, policy, and technology training programs for end-users on various applications and systems.

The Manager, Organizational Change Management (OCM) Center of Excellence (CoE) will play a pivotal role in ensuring IT projects and change initiatives meet their objectives by increasing employee adoption and usage. This leader will focus on the people side of change ? including changes to processes, systems, technology, and ways of working. The Manager will work closely with the Director, Organizational Change Management Center of Excellence (COE) to develop and evolve change management strategies, craft and implement plans that minimize resistance and maximize engagement, and lead a team of OCM Specialists who execute effective change management plans. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Manager will ensure that the university’s IT changes are seamlessly and effectively transitioned into the university’s operations with minimal disruption. The Manager will leverage their strong understanding of UCLA’s landscape and keen ability to integrate technology advancements with organizational goals in order to champion a culture of continuous improvement.

The Manager, OCM will manage communications and change facilitation for strategic IT initiatives, including culture, process, policy, and technology training for end-users on various applications and systems. The Manager will drive effective change management methodologies that engage stakeholders and guide them through the change process. They will assemble and lead OCM teams, overseeing training, deployment, and collaboration among specialists and related staff. The Manager will implement procedures to assess program goals and the effectiveness of OCM strategies, providing guidance for adjustments based on outcomes. Staying updated with OCM best practices, the Manager will drive the evolution of the OCM team’s delivery to align with industry standards and enhance its impact.

The Manager, OCM will positively impact UCLA’s operations and culture by enabling university stakeholders to effectively adopt improvements and changes to technology and business processes in service of the institution’s mission. This team member will advance the university’s mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students.
