Overview
The Director, Talent Development of Delivery & Execution partners with business leaders, HRVPs, and HR Centers of Excellence to understand the business strategy and build an innovative, best-in-class talent development (TD) strategy and roadmap for SGWS. The Director formulates and drives alignment to strategic direction and oversees the design, development, implementation, and ongoing management of TD programs, such as functional development, product/category education, and technical skills. Leads TD Sr. Facilitators and Program Managers and fosters strong relationships with internal and external partners. Facilitates and builds a culture of trust, respect, innovation, and data-driven decision making.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead, coach, & delegate the work of SGWS TD Sr. Facilitators; provide support to a team of Facilitators through coaching and development to execute against objectives and adjust to shifting organizational priorities while ensuring that every team member receives continuous performance feedback, career planning, and development planning
Direct TD team activities, including the approval of project plans/proposals and the selection of TD team Facilitators; direct daily operations of TD, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines
Develop and measure effectiveness of annual team objectives aligned to the business and HR objectives
Manage national and regional budgets for approval, including those for funding or implementation of the department and TD programs
Develop, implement, and continuously improve upon company-wide TD strategies to build capabilities and meet organizational objectives, including conducting ongoing needs assessments through data-driven methods to identify and prioritize mission-critical knowledge and skills gaps
Partner with People Analytics to create and monitor key measures of success for all TD programs and solutions; facilitates continuous improvement and optimization of training costs and impact based on feedback mechanisms, competency evaluation and ongoing analysis of key metrics
Research and keep up-to-date on industry trends, innovations, and best practices in the TD field
Establish strong relationships with key stakeholders and organizational executives to ensure that TD initiatives, technology, and delivery are aligned with individuals, team, and organizational needs; communicates results and feedback quarterly, including reports to TD leadership at various levels
Own the partnership with Organizational Effectiveness (OE) and the HR Technology Team to identify and implement the latest platforms that deliver a robust learning experience for employees
Promote the value of the TD Team’s services to executive leadership through continuous education and communication, including the effectiveness and ROI of existing programs
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
•Demonstrates knowledge of financial, business, and project management principles involved in strategic planning, employee & resource allocation
•Possesses advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite, software applications, HR technology, and learning management systems (LMS) capabilities/functionalities
•Demonstrates persistence in the face of obstacles; reliable, responsible, dependable, fulfills obligations and responsibilities
•Demonstrates knowledge and application of instructional design principles and methods for curriculum and training design, facilitation of training activities, implementing TD processes and programs, adult learning theory, and measurement of training effectiveness and ROI
•Demonstrates change management skills, including implementation of initiatives, aligning perspectives, and implementing change
•Demonstrates effective leadership skills and capabilities to build and maintain dynamic, remote teams, including motivating, developing, coaching, monitoring performance of, and directing employees; directly addresses conflicts and problems and holds others accountable
•Demonstrates ability to facilitate initiatives, align perspectives, and implement change
•Demonstrates ability to communicate information to all relevant stakeholders and business functions within the appropriate time frame and setting; cascades information throughout all levels of the organization effectively.
