It’s a bustling time of year for working moms like me. We are trying to keep up with holiday concerts and crafts with the kids, while wrapping up things on the professional front. As we are trying to get those year end meetings in and setting up what needs to get done in January, it is important to take time to reflect on where we have been.
These past couple of years have been difficult in many ways. The pandemic brought swift changes to the work environment and posed heavy responsibilities on families with school closures. 2021 saw many of these shifts and restrictions continue. Then came the Great Resignation, putting pressure on businesses top to bottom.
Looking ahead into 2022, I feel somewhat uncertain about what lies ahead. Looking back at 2021 (and 2020), I know that uncertainty is ok. I know I can make it through. I hope you can take solace in having made it this far too. We may not be setting up resolutions and stepping into 2022 with the same level of certitude as years past, but we can have the confidence to set a path that works for us now and make it through another year.
